To be eligible for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), candidates must have completed their Class 12th or equivalent with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. It consists of two stages: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. Candidates who score well in JEE Main can qualify for JEE Advanced, which determines final admissions to IITs.

While 12th-grade marks are important for eligibility, they are not a key factor in JEE rankings. To be eligible for JEE, candidates must have passed Class 12th with at least 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (for general category). However, final admission to engineering programs is based on JEE scores, not 12th-grade marks.
